Blue Wave Supplier Development Program: Elevating Small Businesses to HIGHER Standards

Jan
2026

The Blue Wave Supplier Development Program is a comprehensive 6-to-8-month initiative designed to help small businesses identify and close critical gaps across seven key pillars of compliance and capability.

The program begins with a self-assessment against recognized international standards in these seven pillars, pinpointing areas for improvement. Through a structured process of training, workshops, and mentoring, participants work toward closing those gaps by at least 80%, while developing the policies and documentation required by major industry leaders to qualify as a trusted supplier.

The Seven Pillars

  • HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Quality
  • Corporate Policies
  • Technical Capabilities
  • Finance
  • ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)

Each pillar aligns with established international standards, ensuring that the policies and practices developed during the program meet the expectations of leading corporations and government entities.

In early 2025, SYCON applied to the American Petroleum Institute (API) to join a nationwide sponsored cohort. We were honored to be selected and began our journey with Blue Wave in April, successfully graduating in October 2025.

Blue Wave’s mission is clear:

“We help small and mid-sized suppliers understand the international standards required by major corporations and government entities and develop them to reach compliance with the standards and compete for higher added-value business opportunities.”

At SYCON, we share this commitment. Our goal is to deliver the highest value-added solutions in every aspect of industrial automation services. Achieving this requires strict adherence to industry standards—because excellence isn’t optional; it’s essential.
